down a bit. The fridges kick out quite a bit of heat. All the fresh fruit and veg get
put in the fridge over night to keep it as fresh as possible.
We had to say goodbye to Katie Wootton this last month as she turned 18. Thank
you, Katie for you contribution to the shop. We wish you every success in the
future. So we have a vacancy on a Saturday – if you know anyone aged
between 14 and 17 who might be interested please let me know.
The shop is thrilled to have been able to
support the selling of the parish jubilee
mug. If you haven’t got yours yet we will be
selling until “limited” stocks are gone. At
£10 each these are a unique memento of
this unique jubilee celebration.
Thank you for continuing to support our
Village shop.
To place an order please contact us on
01929 472000 during opening hours and by

AN UPDATE TO THE BLADEN ESTATE
CENTENARY EXHIBITION
Those of you who were lucky enough to have visited the Centenary Exhibition of
the Bladen Estate in 2014 may remember a testimonial from the Bladen Estate
workforce to Piers Debenham (Ernest Debenhams eldest son) and his wife Angela
on the occasion of the their wedding in 1928.
This testimonial with the best wishes written in Dorset dialect, the list of names, and
the border showing scenes of everyday farming on the Bladen Estate is a
remarkable historic document and has been reframed and is hanging in the
village hall for all to see.
The village hall is open on most Saturday mornings from 10 to 12 noon if you would
like to visit and the coffee shop will be open too for refreshment and a chat.
