Grants to the voluntary and community sector (including
museums and arts organisations)
The Parish Council has received a copy of a report which will be presented to the
Shadow Executive Committee towards the end of September, regarding grants
to the voluntary and community sector (including museums and arts
organisations). This has been prepared in order to give reassurance to the various
organisations that existing funding will be rolled forward for another year.
Representatives from Dorset Area councils have informed their voluntary and
community sector contacts about the proposals. The Parish Council has been
reassured that Artsreach, who provide entertainment in the village hall as part of
their annual programme, is included in these proposals.

Hedge Cutting
The Parish Council has been made aware that the
growth of hedges over the summer months is now
causing some visibility concerns on local roads. The
Parish Council has reported those hedges that are the
responsibility of Dorset County Council on the
‘dorsetforyou’ website, in the expectation that cutting
back will take place shortly. However, hedges that
mark the boundary of individual properties adjacent
to the highway, are likely to be the responsibility of
individual householders.
