                                                                                            Easter  will  be  with  us  shortly.  We  have  Easter
                                                                                            confectionary  in  the  shop  as  well  as  some  new
                                                                                            grocery lines to try. We will be open as usual over
                                                                                            Easter; the shop will be open on public holidays although the Post Office will be
                                                                                            closed on those days.
                                                                                            Despite  all  the  problems  within  Royal  Mail  and  the  Post  Office  our  little  PO
                                                                                            continues as usual to provide a good service to the village (and beyond). We are
                                                                                            extremely  lucky  to  still  have  a  PO;  very  few  communities  of  our  size  are  so
                                                                                            fortunate. Not only do we provide the usual postal services but also banking and
                                                                                            bill paying facilities.  All this is done through the goodwill of the volunteers who so
                                                                                            helpfully give up their time once a week. Sometimes we are a bit slow because
                                                                                            we might not be sure of the procedure but we always get there in the end; all we
                                                                                            ask of the customer is a little patience occasionally! We have recently gained a
                                                                                            new  volunteer,  David  Neudegg,  and  hopefully  another  person  will  come  on
                                                                                            board in the next couple of months. The combination of the shop and the PO is
                                                                                            mutually beneficial. It is unlikely that one would be viable without the other and
                                                                                            your support is important so keep it up!
                                                                                            Believe it or not it’s time to start thinking about the 2024 Calendar. We would love
                                                                                            to receive your creative work. Please create a scene of the parish in any medium
                                                                                            such  as  a  pencil  sketch,  watercolour,  oil  painting,  collage,  embroidery  or  any
                                                                                            other creative medium of your choice but please, no photography this time. The
                                                                                            submissions should be in landscape format.  We welcome entries that reflect one
                                                                                            or more of the four seasons, but this is not essential. We would also really like to
                                                                                            have some entries from youngsters. All entries should be submitted by 1  August
                                                                                                                                                           st
                                                                                            2023 and the chosen works will then be selected during August. All selected work
                                                                                            will  be  copied  to  make  high  resolution  digital  files  for  printing.    Original  artwork
                                                                                            can  then be  returned  to you.  To  register  your entry, or if you have  any  queries,
