THE BIKE RIDE
Dorset Churches Ride and Stride Saturday 11th September
2021
The annual sponsored bike ride (or walk, or by horse/pony) this year will be on
Saturday 11 September. The riders raise money by sponsorship, either by
th
payment for each church they visit or as a lump-sum for all visited.
Last year riders in Dorset raised over £100 000 from their sponsors, friends, family
and work colleagues, a huge sum.
All the funds raised are split as to 50% for Dorset Historic Churches Trust and 50% for
any charity of the rider’s choice.
If you want to ride and haven’t already obtained the paperwork please contact:

Whilst Government restrictions have been eased, the Parish Council is currently
hiring the main hall in the Village Hall for its monthly meetings. This much larger
room allows us to accommodate more people at the meeting whilst still
exercising some social distancing measures. This means we have an opportunity
to add an Agenda item to our September meeting about the Jubilee, namely, to
invite ideas from Parishioners about how they would like to celebrate or mark this
unique occasion.
There is an opportunity for public participation at the start of each meeting from 7
pm and this session will be extended to 45 minutes to hear from Parishioners across
the Parish. All are welcome.
On-Road Parking
Concerns have been expressed to the Parish Council that some on-road parking
might obstruct emergency vehicles reaching their destination. It is of course
recognised that some homes lack the necessary off-road parking to
