The village shop continues to provide
a wide range of great value fresh fruit
and vegetables, meat and bread.
We are happy to take orders for
regular requirements or one-off items.
Fruit, Veg and Meat arrive on
Wednesday’s and Saturday’s. We
have fresh bread on Monday’s
Wednesday’s Thursday’s and
Saturday’s.
Newspapers and magazines do need
to be ordered in advance, but can
be stopped for holidays/weekends
away. We’re happy to accept
vouchers for the papers.
We have a wide range of cards from
local artists.
We’re open 9 till 12 Monday to Saturday and 10 till 12 on Sunday’s.
Please come and do your shopping!
We have committed to review our covid policies on a monthly basis. At this point
we have decided as we head towards Autumn and Winter, and covid still
virulent, we will continue to allow just one customer in the shop at a time and
hope with the help of the village hall to maintain the one way system. We will
keep the screen up in the shop and whilst we encourage the wearing of masks
we’re not enforcing them.
We continue to look for “new” and “returning” volunteers. Have you considered
whether you could play a part.
Could you spare just a few hours a week or a fortnight. We would really welcome
some more help in the shop. You need to be at the shop by 8.45am to help
prepare the shop for opening and you should be away by 12.15pm. You will have
training and support in the use of the till and stock system. It is a very good way of
getting to know others in the village and keeping up with the local news. If you’re
interested speak to Stuart or Lesley next time you’re in the shop or email me at the
email below.
You might prefer to collect stock. Even if it’s just once a month, help on a
Saturday or Wednesday morning to collect fruit and veg from Wareham market,
or the newspapers from Puddletown on a Thursday morning, it would be a
massive help - 24% of all our sales are fruit and veg and it’s all collected from
market.
