shortages, sickness and vehicle breakdowns meant that service levels could not
be maintained. Councillors have been advised that options to address staff
shortages are being explored with the Human Resources department.
For information, when scheduled collections cannot be completed, a service
disruption is logged electronically by the depot. This ensures members of the
public are informed of the position when they try to report that their materials
have not been collected either online (https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/bins-
recycling-and-litter/report-a-bin-problem/missed-bin-colection.aspx) or by calling
Dorset Direct on 01305 221040. The service disruption should confirm the reason
for the missed collection and when the collection will be rescheduled by. Should
this happen, advice is to leave your bin out, unless the disruption stated that the
next scheduled collection will be the following week.
Co-Option of a new Parish Councillor
At its September meeting Councillors received a short presentation in support of
his application to join the Parish Council by Andrew Munro, a resident of
Affpuddle.
Councillors accepted Andrew’s application and offered him a warm welcome
as a new colleague.
There remains one further vacancy on the Council. If anyone is interested in
joining please contact the Parish Clerk.
