 WW1 Commemoration- Daffodil Planting
       Sidesmen, Lesson Readers, Readings, Intercessors and
 Councillors  considered  the  proposal  to  plant  wild  daffodils  around  the  swallow   Chalice
 hole at the top of Bladen Valley in Briantspuddle woods as a commemoration to

 the men from the village who died in the Great War.  This is a contemplative spot
 as well as being a location that in all probability, the young men who went off to   Date   Time   Sidesmen  Lesson Readers   Readings

 The original plants, thought to have been planted in memory of the men, have   10  after      S Wood   S Wood   John 6: 24-35
 deteriorated over the years.  The current project is to plant 2,000 new bulbs in the   Trinity
 autumn.    A  Parishioner  has  come  forward  to  lead  the  project  on  behalf  of  the

 The Parish Council adopted the telephone box in

 Affpuddle  from  BT  last  year  and  it  has  now  been   13  after         M Cropper   John 6: 56-69
 refurbished  and  a  defibrillator  installed.    The   Trinity
 project  to  transform  the  kiosk  came  about  as  a

 offered a grant towards its cost.
 A training session will be held in due course in the      Intercessions   Chalice
