Dispensary
We are aware that during the worst of
the Covid crisis some patients chose to
use postal and online pharmacies to
reduce their risks and to relieve pressure
on the surgery. As we are now back to
providing most of our pre-pandemic
services we are asking patients to
consider using our dispensary once
again.
There are several reasons to use our dispensary for your prescriptions:

 help and advice with your medicines
 easy repeat prescription ordering and dispensing
 expert dispensary care

 caring staff who know you and can speak directly to your GP or Nurse if
necessary
 one-stop convenience

 the NHS payment for your prescriptions can be used to improve other
surgery services.

The NHS prescription charge is a contribution to the NHS; it is not a payment to the
surgery or its dispensary and it is not related to the cost of your medicine(s).
However, dispensing income helps to pay for:

 extra staff (Doctors/Nurses/Pharmacists/Admin)
 longer consultations
 extended surgery opening hours
 free dosette boxes for those that need them

 jobs for your dispensing team

Without the income we receive from the NHS for our dispensary the Practice
could not afford to continue providing medical services for Bere Regis and the
surrounding areas.
