Highways

As we move into the winter months, it becomes even more important to ensure
that roads are in good order. Any issues such as flooding, potholes, or blocked
drains can all be reported to Dorset Council online. This is the fastest way to get
problems resolved. There is also an emergency phone number on the website for
reporting the most urgent issues. There is a link to this page, as well as information
about reporting other problems, on the Briantspuddle Community Website on the
“Reporting Local Issues” page.

Traffic Survey for the B3390
The Parish Council is pushing to have a traffic survey undertaken on the B3390 by
Dorset Council. If this is not successful, then the Parish Council will consider
commissioning a survey in the summer of 2022. The summer is the optimum time
to see the true impact of traffic on our small community.

Speed Limits

The Parish Council has agreed that rather than applying for 20mph limits in
specific locations, it will write to Dorset Council to challenge its policy on speed
limits and suggest that 20mph limits ought to be the norm through villages.

Verges

Councillors Charles Barter and Graham Lightfoot are currently undertaking a
review of roadside verges and putting together a plan for verge cutting to
prioritise those that need to be kept clear for safety and look at verges that would
benefit from less frequent cuts in order to create the best environment for
biodiversity. The Parish Council intends to then submit this to Dorset Council and
ask that the plan be adopted for verges in the parish.
