                 Whilst  Football  was  his  big  love    -  he  also  played  cricket  for  the
    Unseasoned Hazel Firewood  -  £100/load   village team, occasionally keeping wicket, and in  1955  Bere got to
         the Dorset minor cup final at Hardy’s ground in Dorchester and batting at no
    Bean poles  -  £1 each   7 scored a rapid 50 to help Bere win the cup for the first time - which led to a
         celebration on their return to the village in the Drax Arms.

         After the wedding they moved in to 13 Egdon Close and Paul was born on 23
 John Sweeney   August  1966  and  Reg  joined  the  Fire  Brigade  in  the  village  as  a  Part  time
         Fireman following in the footsteps of his older brothers to which he served for

         Bovington Camp
         In 1979 the family moved to the newly built Manor Farm Road and number 2
 MORE THAN A MOVIE      has been his home ever since.

         Reg was a member of the Royal British Legion and the Sports club here in the
         Village and spent many happy times in both clubs either playing or watching
 Death on the Nile   sport or enjoying the weekly entertainment at the clubs, socializing with many
