made, for example, helping to maintain our food forest, and other important
tasks, so keep an eye out for any future emails!
So what does the future hold? By the time you are reading this newsletter, we
would have already started out Stage-0 River Restoration on the headwaters of
the River Sherford, working towards creating 100-acres of wetland on site. Not
only will this become a wildlife haven, but it will lock up carbon in the soils, help
alleviate flash flooding, and clean up the water flowing through site. This Winter
we will also be planting the beginnings of our food forest on site, consisting of 1-
1.5 hectares of native fruit trees and bushes in our open access field. On the
planting theme, I’ll also be working with the local Primary School to begin the
process of our Oak Henge, an 800-year project to create living henge on site,
consisting of veteran Oak trees! All this planting will be happening in the 17-
hectare open access field, which we’re looking to open up to the public soon.
Plenty to keep an eye on and to get involved with over the next year of the
