Ancient / Veteran Trees
Following on from advice and guidance we received from Sean Cooch of
Natural England we are hoping you can help us in identifying and recording
ancient and veteran trees in the Parish. There are two ways in which you can
help:
Join us on a walk to survey some trees. Our first session will be held on Saturday
17 November, meeting at the Cemetery gates at 10am;
th
Let us know of any old trees you think are valuable and we will take a look at
them.
Our initial focus is upon ancient / veteran trees bounding the hollow / sunken
tracks leading from the village on to Black Hill and the boundary hedge banks
skirting the southern edge to Black Hill. These tracks / banks are of historic interest
and significance to Bere Regis and the trees alongside them a part of that history.

ROGS
Memorial Cup
2018
21 ROGS members
and 8 guests turned it
in beautiful sunshine at
Bath Golf Club with
rolling hills and small
undulating greens for the Memorial Cup played
in honour of the previous ROGS members that
we have lost. As always, the day was started
with an FA cup style live draw which again
threw up some interesting groups with Harry
Smith arriving at the club with the Captain at
10am only to find out his was teeing off last at
1pm!!
