       VILLAGE JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS


                               We  hope  that  you  are  all  looking  forward  to  the
                               festivities  to  celebrate  the  Queen’s  Platinum  Jubilee,
                               and  to  joining  in  with  the  events  that  are  being
                               organised in the village.


                               Thursday 2  June
                                            nd
                               Start  the  weekend  with  a  barbeque  at  Throop,  from
                               8.00pm. Bring your own choice of food to cook, a hot
                             barbeque  will  be  available,  bread  and  salads  will  be
       provided. We will join with the rest of the country in lighting a symbolic beacon at
       9.45pm.

       Friday 3  June

       Join  in  an  evening,  from  7.30pm  until
       11.30pm,  at  the  Bladen  Social  Club  and
       Village Hall, with live music, a buffet meal
       and  Ceilidh  /  Barn  Dance.  Music  will  be
       provided  by  “Claude  and  the  Cats”  –
       mostly  the  same  musicians  as  for  the
       band which we have enjoyed in the past
       at  Burn’s  Night  celebrations,  and  will
       include  a  caller  to  help  us  through  the
       dances. The Social Club bar will be open,
       enter  a  competition  for  the  best  costume  to  represent  the  spirit  of  the  Jubilee
       (anything  from  a  hat  to  a  complete  outfit),  and  have  a  good  time  with  your
       family and friends.

       Saturday 4  June
       A  Street  Party  with  fun  for  all  will  start  at  2.00pm,  continuing  through  until  late
       evening.  There will  be games  and competitions  suitable  for  all  ages.  Subject  to
       the expected approval of an application to close the road the venue will be the
       main street through Briantspuddle past the Village Hall.


       Sunday 5  June
                  th
       At 3.00pm there will be a special open-air service to recognise and give thanks for
       the Queen’s long reign, followed by a Parish Picnic. This will be held in the Peace
