Amid the great turmoil of refugees flooding
into Europe come amazing reports of
miraculous intervention.
One Iranian family thought they had lost
their three-year-old daughter when she fell
overboard from a crowded boat heading
for the Greek island of Lesbos.
Her parents fell to their knees crying out to
God for help, when suddenly, she
appeared in front of them.
Amazed, they asked her what had
happened. She told them that as she
began to sink, she saw a man clothed in
white walking on the water towards her,
who rescued her.

AFFPUDDLE AND TURNERSPUDDLE PARISH
COUNCIL
At its February meeting Councillors listened to a short presentation from one of the
candidates for the position of Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner in the up
and coming election. David Sidwick outlined his priorities should he win the
election. He also spoke about how he believed his experience would help him in
carrying out his duties and in delivering his priorities.
Councillors discussed the Decision Notice for the planning application for land at
Shakes Hole. The application to extend leisure activities to 4 days per week was
approved at Planning Committee. Councillors voiced their disappointment that
the application had been approved despite all three surrounding Parish Councils
having objected to the proposals. The Parish Council will ask the Planning Officer
to attend a future meeting to explain why the application had been approved in
the light of combined objections. The fact that a similar application had been
made in the past and had been turned down made the decision all the more
difficult to understand.
Some pruning work will be carried out on the Jubilee Tree. This work will be carried
out in line with the advice of the Tree Officer. The cost of the work will in part be
met by the very kind and generous donation of a local resident.
Litter is an ongoing issue in the Parish. Over
a number of years the Parish Council has
organised an annual litter pick and 2020
will be no exception. The proposed

weekend is 21 and 22 March (with 28
and 29 as a contingency). These dates

are subject to confirmation that the village
hall is free, so please look out for posters
nearer the time as well as information on

For anyone new to the village or for
anyone who has not taken part in this
initiative before, the litter pick will take
place between 9am and 12 noon on both
Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers head to
the village hall where they will be given all
the equipment they need. The Parish is
