A HISTORY OF CROSSWAYS TRAVEL
Turning your 'hobby' into a business is a big step, and one which Matt and Kadi
Crocker faced ten years ago when charity work overtook their working life. They
took the plunge, and haven't looked back. It takes some bottle to hand in your
notice on a well paid job and dive into coach tours to make a living especially
when there are thin margins and a lot of stress in running tour programmes.
Matt and Kadi Crocker came to coach touring just over ten years ago, in an
evolutionary process which took them from raising money for local charities to
becoming Crossways Travel; to carving a niche for high quality coach tours, within
the local community.
It all started back in 2009 when they decided to run a few day trips by coach
from Crossways for the local residents
on a not for profit basis with all excess
money going to local charities,
eventually they got to a situation in
which they had a pot of money, and
were making loads of donations to
local causes. The trips carried on
getting busier and busier and they
started adding more and more pick
ups including Bere Regis and many of
the other local villages, As time went
on it become apparent that they
could not continue to run the trips Our 10th birthday party last September
and carry on working and so after
about 3 years both Matt and Kadi gave up there well paid jobs, Matt on the
railway and Kadi as a teacher and turned their enterprise into a business.
Crossways Travel has now become a household name with so many people and
they offer a very personal service, from the initial booking, right through to the
journey itself. Every coach is
double manned with an
experienced driver and a
professional Tour Manager,
often either Matt or Kadi and
all tours have on board toilet
and a range of refreshments
available to purchase during
your journey.
Crossways Travel haven't
forgotten where their roots lie
though and to this day have a
