She often accompanied Gilbert when he was stalking. On one occasion they

It was at the end of the 2011 season that Gilbert and Barbara decided to call it
a day. I was very disappointed, for it was the end of a wonderful era but went
back the following year on my own. It was going to be rather lonely.

My first evening at our usual hotel, I went down to the lounge before dinner.
There sat Barbara and Gilbert highly amused at my obvious confusion and
delight at finding them there. They had flown from Bournemouth to lnverness,
hired a car and driven half way across Wester Ross just to keep me company.
We had a wonderful evening. That was the depth of their friendship.
That was one of my happiest memories of Barbara and it is one which will
remain. You all have your own memories of her - keep them alive in your hearts.
That way she, and all the love she gave, will never fade.
Thank you Barbara for everything you've given us.

        God Bless
