To all contributors to the Dates for your Diary
As soon as you have planned your programmes for 2024, it would be really
helpful if you could let me have the information as soon as possible. This helps
others know when key dates are booked. It also helps me to set out this section in
one fell swoop, rather than in bits and drabs over several months - it can be
quite time consuming. Even if a session has not yet been finalised, it’s better to
have the date, time and venue, and the content can be added later.

Choral Services and Musical Events at St Peter’s Church,
Dorchester during December
We hope you will join us for our packed programme of musical events at St
Peter’s Church, Dorchester in December – all of which are free!
Join us on Saturday 2 December at 4.30pm for our Advent Carol service. We are
nd
delighted to welcome University Music Chamber Choir (comprising students from
Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth) as our visiting choir for
this event. Choral music by Britten, Howells, Weir, Tavener and MacMillan will
feature alongside traditional hymns and carols for Advent. We hope you will
come and support these fantastic young musicians if you can. All are very
welcome to this service and for refreshments afterwards.
On Sunday 10 December at 10.30am, our monthly

service of Choral Eucharist features Charpentier’s
‘Messe de minuit’, Will Todd’s ‘Stay with me Lord’
and Palestrina’s ‘Alma redemptoris mater’. All are
welcome to the service and for refreshments

On Saturday 16 December between 12.30pm and

1.00pm, our lunchtime concert will feature a
performance of Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’. Do
join us for this free event and enjoy a peaceful thirty
minutes in the midst of a busy December Saturday!
Finally, our carol service takes place on Saturday 23

December at 4.30pm. This is a highly traditional
service of nine lessons and carols, featuring a
