       BRIANTSPUDDLE POST

       OFFICE AND SHOP

Easter will be with us shortly. We have Easter
confectionary in the shop as well as some new
grocery lines to try. We will be open as usual over
Easter; the shop will be open on public holidays although the Post Office will be
       closed on those days.
Despite all the problems within Royal Mail and the Post Office our little PO
continues as usual to provide a good service to the village (and beyond). We are
extremely lucky to still have a PO; very few communities of our size are so
fortunate. Not only do we provide the usual postal services but also banking and
bill paying facilities. All this is done through the goodwill of the volunteers who so
helpfully give up their time once a week. Sometimes we are a bit slow because
we might not be sure of the procedure but we always get there in the end; all we
ask of the customer is a little patience occasionally! We have recently gained a
new volunteer, David Neudegg, and hopefully another person will come on
board in the next couple of months. The combination of the shop and the PO is
mutually beneficial. It is unlikely that one would be viable without the other and
your support is important so keep it up!
Believe it or not it’s time to start thinking about the 2024 Calendar. We would love
to receive your creative work. Please create a scene of the parish in any medium
such as a pencil sketch, watercolour, oil painting, collage, embroidery or any
other creative medium of your choice but please, no photography this time. The
submissions should be in landscape format. We welcome entries that reflect one
or more of the four seasons, but this is not essential. We would also really like to
have some entries from youngsters. All entries should be submitted by 1 August
                                                                       st
2023 and the chosen works will then be selected during August. All selected work
will be copied to make high resolution digital files for printing. Original artwork
can then be returned to you. To register your entry, or if you have any queries,
please contact Jo Neudegg on 01929 473906 or by email
       jo.neudegg@hotmail.co.uk
This year’s AGM will be held on Friday 14 April at 19.00 in the village hall. Come
