DORSET COUNCIL- WEST PURBECK REPORT
North Street Application
As many of you will now be aware this
application has been deferred as
Highways Agency have not accepted
the application as it has failed to meet
their requirements. The applicant (if
they decide to do so) will need to
rework their traffic calculations and
resubmit the complete application.
This means that the clock will restart
from zero at that point. As soon as I
hear of this I will contact all the residents who have been in touch with me.
Dorset Local Plan
Dorset Council recently announced some key messages. We have listened to you
on the draft Dorset Council Local Plan and spoken with Government. We are
reshaping the new Dorset Council Local Plan and extending the timescale by two
years to allow adoption 2026. There will be more focus in the reshaped Dorset
Council Local Plan on the right development in the right places, the right quality
and on climate and ecological considerations.
We have discussed this with Government and the change of leader and Cabinet
personnel has not helped but we will restart our discussions with government as
soon as possible. Until then we have made our new timetable explicit to them!
Annual Canvas
Households in the Dorset Council area are being asked to look out for an email
asking residents to check whether the information on the electoral register is
correct as part of the Annual Canvass for the Register of Elections. Households,
where there appears to have been no changes in residency, will start receiving
emails from 3 August. A response is required to the email even if the details in the
email are still correct to www.householdresponse.com/Dorset. Log in securely by
using details provided in the email, which will only come
from elections@elections.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.
