MAKE ME SMILE
On one of those seemingly endless rainy days I was feeling fed up and miserable
and I just wanted something to make me smile. Trawling the website I found
some pictures of the previous village scarecrows and it was like a light bulb
moment. Why not do them again.
I thought about Easter. We were still going to be in lockdown but given good
weather the villagers would be able to get out for walks and hopefully the
scarecrows would make them smile as well. I floated the idea with a few people
and got some positive response.
In fact the response was wonderful and we had 14 addresses where scarecrows
could be found. I got around to all of them and I must say there are some very
clever and inventive people in our village and I thank them for all their hard work
and for taking part. Importantly for making me smile.
I am hoping that we could make this an annual event so get your thinking caps
on for next year.
For those who were unable to get out and about I hope your enjoy the photos in
the colour spread overleaf.
