       LETTER FROM OUR ASSOCIATE PRIEST

       July Dear friends

7th American tea with a talk by Pip Evans and the Bere A change is as good as a rest
1TC Essentials talking and performing American Music On my calendar in the kitchen, I have all the family and friends important dates
and as I write this, in February, I am reminded that it is one of our nephew’s 9
                                                                              th
9th Mystery tour and lunch £10 9.30am wedding anniversary. We had the chance to attend our nephew’s wedding in
Sydney that year and it became our Australian adventure. We combined this
9th Julia Harrison - Through the Garden Gate with a little of the Cricket World Cup and meeting up with old friends. It’s a long
way to go, so you have to fit in as much as possible, but I did wish at the time that
we were 20 years younger! The change in temperature was certainly very
SP 18th Pork loin steak, Sticky Toffee pudding welcome, the change from village life to city living was very different, we took

public transport everywhere and some of it even free. Having to fly between
Sydney and Melbourne and Sydney and Brisbane certainly showed us how vast
even that corner of Australia is and how small our island really is. We introduced
ourselves to some very different native species, but did feel that the kangaroo

rolling in the dirt to scratch her back really did remind us of our dear, since
departed, dog Bonnie doing the same thing on the carpet at home. Some things
30th didn’t change, English cricket had a long way to go (this was one of the things
FN that led us to ‘BazBall’), Australians love to win, especially when there are ‘poms’
