 NEWS   Choral Services and Musical Events at St Peter’s Church,

       Dorchester, during July
 AFFPUDDLE AND TURNERSPUDDLE PARISH   Our  monthly  service  of  Choral  Eucharist  takes  place  on  Sunday  14   July  at
                                                                      th
 COUNCIL   10.30am. The music includes Parry’s ‘My sould there is a country’, the Lassus ‘Missa
       Octavi Toni’ and Gibbons’s ‘Almighty and everlasting God’.  All are welcome to
       this free event and for refreshments afterwards.

       On Saturday 20  July, between 12.30pm and 1.00pm, Graeme Thew will present a

       programme of music for marimba and other percussion instruments. This is a free
       concert and we hope you will join us for a fantastic and fascinating half hour of
       music in the midst of your busy Saturday!
       Our  monthly  service  of  Choral  Evensong  takes  place  on  Saturday  27   July  at

       4.30pm.  The  music  includes  Parry’s  ‘Never  weather  beaten  sail’,  Howells’s
       ‘Gloucester Service’, Reading’s ‘Preces & Responses’ and Balfour Gardiner’s ‘Te
       lucis ante terminum’. All are very welcome to this free event, and we hope you
       will join us for a glass of wine afterwards.
 At this month’s meeting we were pleased to be able to co-opt Danny Hall onto   Don’t forget that the internationally-renowned vocal ensemble, The Gesualdo Six,
 the Parish Council.  Danny has been resident in the Parish for over 50 years and   are coming to St Peter’s to give a concert on Friday 6  September at 7pm. There

 At  our  meeting  we  considered  our  Auditors  Annual  Report  and  approved  our
 Annual  Governance  &  Accountability  Return  for  our  accounts  year  ending  31
 March 2024.  This  will be available for inspection on the council website from the   Summer Serenade Concert  - Dorset Chamber Choir
 28 June until 8 August.   Friday 12thJuly  at 7:00 pm

 The Council also received an update on its application for a 20 MPH speed limit in   Merley House, Wimborne BH21 3AA
 Briantspuddle and is liaising with Dorset Council to organise a traffic survey in the
 village which is a prerequisite before being able to proceed.   Tickets £15 (students/children £5) on the door or choir members
 I  am  currently  in  the  process  of  setting  up  meetings  with  local  groups  and   Madrigals  &  folk  songs,  items  by  Byrd,  Elgar,  Monteverdi  etc  and  settings  of  Te
 organisations to find out from  them what their challenges and opportunities are   Deum by Vaughan Williams & Charpentier
 and to see how the Parish Council can support them in reaching their objectives.
