 LETTER FROM OUR ASSOCIATE PRIEST
2nd Tony Bates ‘Bere Regis then and now’
 Happy New Year!
I know you are reading this in the new year, but it’s still December as I write, and it
was -6 when I took Zinnie for her moonlit walk this morning. With weather like this
and only a few weeks since our holiday in Norway, I ‘m reminded of what a lovely
holiday we had, but it certainly wasn’t as cold as we expected it to be. March

We cruised from Dover and had beautiful sunny weather as we crossed the North 2nd Simon Goddard ‘Seasonal walk round Bere Regis’
Sea up to the northern part of Norway. The fiords were as beautiful as you could
imagine and there was snow on the peaks of the mountains. We had some
different experiences – kayaking, crossing the Arctic Circle, a husky ride in the
snow, crossing desert like snow covered plains in a coach that seemed to go far
too fast for the snowy conditions – but they are so much more used to ice and
snow than we are. Tunnels are very important too, there was even a roundabout April
in one tunnel we went through!

The huskies were very excited at the prospect of running through the snow and
we met this year’s pups who were about 4 months old. They reminded me of
Zinnie when she was a puppy, very cute, but very naughty, wanting to eat 7th Good Friday Easter Event 10-12
everything, gloves, scarves, socks, anything they could get their teeth into!
