Finding the extraordinary in the ordinary
I was very interested to hear about the discovery of the “sea dragon” in Rutland
October last year and then watch it on the programme ‘Digging for Britain’. By
coincidence we had had a week’s holiday in Rutland last October, somewhere
we had never visited before. The rolling countryside was beautiful and not too

then it was 180 million years ago – quite mind boggling! It has been an

I know it seems only a few weeks since Jesus was born, but in our church cycle of
readings we’ve just heard the story of Jesus turning water into wine, his first
miracle. Jesus was at an ordinary party with his friends, when the wine ran out –
every host’s nightmare. Unbeknown to most of the people at the party, Jesus
took six large stone jars and had them filled with ordinary water, when the liquid
