          June LETTER FROM OUR ASSOCIATE PRIEST

    4th Seaton and the Donkey Sanctuary £12 9.30am Dear friends
       Most mornings Zinnie (the dog) and I are leaving the house while it’s still dark,
       these shorter days are more difficult for some than others, especially the gloomier
    11th Denise Jones - Summer Madness ones. I don’t mind them, because the winter also brings lovely things. You can’t
       beat a frosty day, especially if you don’t have to go anywhere except walk the
 PC 13th Parish Council meeting, Village Hall 7.00pm dog and enjoy it. The night sky on a clear crisp evening has been particularly
       spectacular, although I’m waiting again for a fuller moon to be able to see
       without a torch when I’m walking in the mornings! I love the way that we get
   SP 20th Chicken and leek pie, Eton Mess glimpses of light at this time of year: when the sun manages to break through on

       an otherwise grey day; when the moon shines so bright you don’t need a torch;
             when the cobwebs sparkle on a frosty morning. The winter also brings our lovely
       Christian festivals – Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Candlemas – spreading Christ’s
       light to the world.

       Of course, more light then gives way to noticing the beginnings of spring, when
       everything in the garden starts coming to life again. As I write this in January, for a
    25th
   FN February edition, it’s difficult to imagine more spring-like weather, especially as we
       here in south Dorset haven’t had that promised snowfall yet! But we know that
       the spring will come, there are already signs of daffodil bulbs poking through the
