VILLAGE HALL NEWS
Well, October is whistling by, any moment now the
clocks will be changed and a feeling that Winter
has arrived will be with us. Thankfully, so far, the
government doesn’t feel the need to impose any
covid restrictions and this means that the village
hall can offer all the facilities we enjoyed pre covid. The final decisions on how to
carry out an activity rests with the hirer and so you will find different criteria being
put into practice by each event.
Please remain vigilant about
covid and look into the criteria

implementing to make sure you
are comfortable with what’s in
place. We have a tendency to
be stiff upper lipped British about
things, put up with them and then
complain afterwards but please
let me assure you that in this new
world if you arrive at an event
and are uncomfortable about
spacing of seats, ventilation,
masks etc no one will think any
the worse of you if you take yourself home, even if it is that you start to feel
uncomfortable during an event.
I know that nobody hosting an event would want anyone to stay if they felt
vulnerable just out of politeness. By all means make any concerns known to me
but the system that now seems to be operating across most of the UK is one of self
choice, where if you’re not comfortable you don’t stay.
That all said though, it is great to see so many things returning to the village hall,
we now have Yoga and Pilates back on a regular footing, the community group
coffee shop is up and running on Saturday mornings and the village café
continues to run on a Tuesday. We’ve had the first Artsreach event since covid
shut everything down and many of you will have enjoyed a really good evening’s
