The Moon and Venus
It had been one of those beautiful
days -
The sky was blue, with a hint of haze.
In wonderment I had to stop and
gaze –
The sunset was vivid, an orb ablaze.
I saw the Moon and Venus, flirting in the sky;
A cloud smiled coyly as she floated by.
I’m sure a star winked, and caught my eye
And a light, gentle breeze sang a lullaby.
The sun rose on another golden dawn;
The veil was lifted on a beautiful morn.
The sky turned coral, a new day was born –
I looked for the Moon and Venus, but they were gone.
