go a significant way to
mitigating phosphorus
impacts. However, as
drafted, there is a risk that
smaller treatment works
would not be in scope and
so the Leader of Dorset
Council has written to the
Secretary of State to
request that all necessary
wastewater treatment
works in the Poole Harbour catchment are within scope of the intended
improvements, and officers have held subsequent meetings with government
departments, Natural England and Wessex Water to look at this further.
Government is giving careful consideration to Dorset Council’s position and the
Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill is anticipated to receive Royal Assent during
the Summer, at which point we hope to have greater certainty to offer applicants
and developers. In the meantime, officers at Dorset Council are continuing to
work proactively to look at finding solutions, including:
Working with Registered Providers to deliver mitigation to existing housing stock to
provide additional capacity for affordable housing units;
Engaging with DLUHC to seek additional funding to bring forward mitigation;
Investigating mitigation options outside of the Poole Harbour catchment, in
partnership with neighbouring authorities.

Pop In Place Workshop
A variety of bird boxes and planters are for sale call in on Friday morning to see
them
We are a small group meeting on Friday mornings and do some wood work,
making bird boxes, bug hotels and planters etc we also do a lot of talking and
drinking coffee. We have completed and refurbished the table tennis table and
that is available for people to play a game.
If you are interested in coming along and doing any of the above or your own
small project, call in and see us you will be very welcome.
Blankets for Bere and Beyond
The Pop In Place have recently delivered 6 blankets to people in the parish we
still have some left so if you need one let us know.
Pop In Place Food Crisis Support
The Pop In Place have a Food Crisis Project. We have gained some funding to
provide one off crisis packs for people in the Parish in a critical situation, with no
food.
We ask for donations of money, rather than food so that we can be very specific
about what is put into the packages, ensuring it is of most use.
