just walked the cliff tops, the views are spectacular, even with the sight of four or
five cruise ships between us and Portland. There’s always something to see and DATES FOR
hear, seabirds swooping in and out of the cliffs, long grass moving gently in the
breeze, insects being busy and waves lapping the shore. It doesn’t matter how
many times you go to the same spot there’s always something changing. YOUR DIARY
On the beach itself the tide is never quite the same, the waves are never the 2020
same, and different things are washed up and left on the stones and sand. The
piles of stones will have probably changed, there will almost certainly be Key: FG-Floral Group, AL-Autumn Leaves, TA– Twinning, WI-Women’s
differences in the cliffs due to erosion, I can never get bored with the same bit of Institute, PiP-Pop in Place, GC-Gardening Club
beach.
It’s the same with village life, things may seem the same but there are always little August
changes. As we begin to come out of lockdown, we’re hoping that we’ll be able
to do more of the things we enjoyed in the past. It’s quite likely though that we 11th Communibus - Groves Nursery and West Bay
may have to do those things in slightly different ways, we will have to be more
conscious of everyone’s safety and health. 12th AL: Home Grown Entertainments, bring a pencil and a poem
Sometimes we would just like time to stand still, especially when we are
comfortable with life. But, as the Preacher in the Old Testament Book Ecclesiastes 20th Salt and Pepper Club
says, there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. 25th Communibus - Sidmouth
People and circumstances change, and we must accept that, it is from these
things that we learn and grow. It’s good to know though, that through all the September
changes, be they good or bad, happy or sad, God is with us accompanying us on
our journey. God has all the time in this world and beyond to spend with us and 8th Communibus - Breamore House and Countryside Museum
it’s just because he loves us.
